New Regulations-Ethnic Identifications
Effective January, 2002 the following Ethnic designations must be incorporated into all Affirmative Actions
Plans and EO Surveys. It is likely that these designations will also be required in reporting on employers
EEO–1 Forms.
White
Asian
Black or African American
Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander
Hispanic or Latino (All races)
Hispanic or Latino (White race only)
Hispanic or Latino (all other races)
This will mean some significant changes in employers HRIS programs. It is wise to begin this change sooner
